What current medical research are you most excited about?

The field of Connectomics and the ability of fMRIs to give specialist doctors, such as psychiatrists, a better insight into their patient’s brain functionality as it relates to their life experiences.

 

How do you strengthen your mental fitness?

Whether it’s at the clinic or out in ‘the middle’, I love being around file-minded people who strive to be the best versions of themselves. I find the competitive nature of sport incredibly valuable as it helps to build discipline and resilience, which is often required in everyday life.

Playing cricket can be frustrating and boring, but there is value in being a part of something that is bigger than yourself. It’s also comforting to know that when you are having a bad day, on or off the field, there are 10 other blokes in your corner. The sense of community and mateship you experience when playing is what keeps me mentally fit.

 

What is your favourite health hack?

Getting morning sunlight exposure on my balcony within 30 minutes of waking.

 

What is your ‘not-so-guilty’ pleasure?
